Guess Who's Back

Happy Summer!

I know. I know. It's been a while. That about sums up life with three kids for me. We've been busy. Every day is a new adventure and a new puzzle to solve between our schedule(s). For some reason, these kids decided to start growing up and finding their own interests, sports, hobbies. They're involved.

But nonetheless, we're joyful. We've found a routine that is a little unorthodox-but that's been our way of life ever since I've been self-employed. And it works for us. Coordinated chaos, as I like to call it.

Here are some of our highlights so far this summer:

We started off with our trip to Washington DC. Briggs just loves history. Especially presidents and politics. So Ryan and I checked off a destination on his dream board: none other than our nations' capital. It was a bucket-filling experience for all three of us. And the girls got to be spoiled while we were away. We made memories to last a lifetime.

Ryan and I get to spend the occasional hour together. He's been working his tail off all summer- and we are so grateful for his hard work and providing for our family. We love you, Daddy! You're the real MVP.

Our cousins came to visit over 4th of July weekend. And it was the exact summer pick-me-up we needed. We are counting down the days until they come back to the Hoosier state!

We took a mini-trip to Cincinnati to watch our beloved White Sox play our beloved Tucker Barnhart who plays for the Reds. The game went 12 innings. We got home at 2am. But got to watch fireworks the whole drive home. #balance. Plus we got to see Uncle Lancey and Jackie while we were there.

So much time has been spent barefoot, getting popsicle mustaches, playing in sprinklers, swimming in #allthepools (p.s. Briggs is officially a swimmer!). Can summer last all year, please?

We've pretty much been living our best life this summer. Living it up for another 3.5 weeks until we've got an official first grader, pre-k kid & a preschool newbie (queue ugly cry).

And if you want to keep more up-to-date tabs on us (because #lifewiththreekids makes blog posting so random) shoot me a message- and I'll send you a link to join our private Photo Circle album. (easiest app ever & great to post when you're always on the run)

Love y'all & soak up the sunshine!

4th of July 2016

We've had a picture-perfect June as far as weather goes. And the forecast for July looks great as well...except for the weekend of the 4th. It's cold rainy and just blah. I was considering breaking out my winter coat, but then my family will just call me dramatic. But the kids didn't let it stop them from enjoying the celebration of our country! I love how resilient kids are.

Always the fashionista.

Kinser and her briggy

Sis had to play too.

Kerigan was a little nervous for fireworks on the lake this year...

But did better with daddy and big bro by her side. (Briggs had no anxiety this year because we bought him ear plugs...best investment ever)

You know I love my Patriotic snacks.

Yaya with her girls heading to the parade.

All the kiddos lined up!

Cousin pic!

My happy 4th babes.

Collecting their candy! (Love Briggy's choice of footwear.)

Hey cousins, look at me!

Happy 4th from our family (all 4.5 of us) to yours!!

Our June 2016

Splash pad secrets, Family Broad Ripple dates, T-Ball, boating, swimming and more...that's what our June was made of! I love June. It's my favorite month of the year. So much promise for a beautiful summer. Bathing suits and pop ice become part of the daily routine. And catching lightning bugs and riding bikes become a life skill. Soaking it up!

We hope y'all are enjoying your summer days too!

Vargas Family Reunion 2016

This year's reunion was celebrated at the Indiana Dunes! We combined my Grandpa's family with his brother, Jesse's family. Grandpa was one of seven kids. Then both he and Jesse had seven...so needless to say, there was a lot of people (and love) over the weekend. It's so special to see my kids making friends with my cousin's kids. Vargas family reunions were the source of some of my greatest memories as a kid. I'm so glad we are carrying on the tradition with our babes!

Such a special weekend! Love my Vargas Familia..forever and always.

Sunny August 2015

July showers bring August flowers, right? We had an awesome August! Between the sunshine, concerts, zoo days, farm visits, pool parties, the state fair and school starting...we are loving life and sleeping well :)

Some cute little things about the kids this month:
  • Briggs has gone from calling me "mommy" to "mama." He says it all the time and the way he says it is so endearing. I think he's a southern boy at heart
  • Kerigan refers to all food as "nummies" She came up with this on her own
  • He still loves Madagascar
  • She still loves Ring Around the Rosie
  • They both get giddy when they see their cousin, Kinsie
  • They are both crazy obsessed with Lola. Like they fight on who can take her on walks. Thank goodness that pup is so patient with them.
  • Kerigan's vocabulary has exploded this month, She went from maybe 20 words to over 100.
  • Briggs thinks Kerigan is the funniest person known to mankind. Her sarcasm and sense of humor makes him laugh. Not giggle-but deep, uncontrollable belly laughs. Which just encourages our little comedian even more.

Here is our August Video. It's a little longer than usual- but there were just so many sweet memories to capture :) What an awesome summer its been. I'm not ready to see it go- but some pretty incredible things are on the September horizon. :)

Enjoy the show!

Our State Fair 2015

...is a great state fair. Don't miss it! Don't even be late!
We're soaking up more of fair season! Who doesn't love the state fair? It's the one day of the year where calories don't count ;-) I used to think all the fried foods were weird because I was secretly mad I wasn't trying them. But then I decided to live a little annnnd the donut burger changed my fair world. The kids love the fried potato chips, popcorn and lemon shake ups.  This year, they even tried their first elephant ear! I had to convince Briggs it wasn't a real elephant ear before he took a bite :)

We visited all the animals' barns, fed some goats, loved on some baby calves and took a tour of the Glass Barn to support my amazing cousin, Katie (or Kath, as I like to call her) who works with the Indiana Soybean Alliance.

Loves her Yaya.

Twinkle toes, as Pops calls her

Family photo shoot at the Glass Barn. Awesome idea and so fun!

We got to pet horsies with Kinsie, ride a "tractor choo choo," snuggle with Yaya, have a family photo shoot, see baby piggies and visit our fave, the Dairy Barn for milk shakes.

My sweet bug. So happy to be at the fair.

Love this family and our Hoosier adventures!
