Friday Favorites: Dainty Days Edition

It's my favorite day of the week! Today I'm sharing some fun favorites and even sticking a hair selfie in there. #yikes

Last Friday, Ryan took me to the IU game. This is a huge deal when you're married to a Purdue fan. After the W, we walked down towards campus, grabbed a Starby and visited the Sample Gates. Ryan, IU & Starbucks. So much happy in this picture.

I am so bad at selfies its not even funny. Is there a class for them? But I was attempting to see what my hair looked like after I followed The Dainty Days video on how to do a dutch braid. She has a youtube channel for all kinds of hair tutorials. I am still dealing with regrowth after nursing for 20 months and I'm not ready to cut my hair. (I think I'm going through a hippie hair phase.) So I braid my hair... a lot. So Ashley (the braid fairy) has been a life saver.

On Sunday, we had a Dance & Twirl birthday party for Kerigan. And Briggs had to deal with tutus wherever he went. #babysisterproblems

I'll post party details soon, but in the meantime, I wanted to share with you how happy I was with Shoobee Loo Music. Michelle came to our house and danced and sang with all the kids from ages 3 months to 4 years..for an hour! If you're in the Indy area, please consider Shoobee Loo Music to sing with your kiddos (especially if you have winter birthdays like us) Kerigan gets so happy when I show her the videos from the dance party. It's definitely one of our favorites this week!

And that's it for now! Stay warm this weekend :-)

Friday Favorites: Game Changer Edition

Yay Fri! I'm looking forward to a "mommy day" (as Briggs calls them) as we prep for Kerigan's bday party! As we've been preparing for her party, I've discovered some awesome faves this week:

Thanks to Kroger, my life is forever changed. Remember when I said I miserably failed at grocery shopping? Kroger has recently launched online shopping at 12 Indy locations. DREAMS COME TRUE. I can meal plan and shop from my computer (after babies have gone to bed) then reserve a time to pick up the next day. Once you arrive, they bring out your groceries and load up your car for you. You never go inside! Guys! I can't even describe how great this is for moms with small kids. My whole outlook on life has changed :-) Better shopper. Better meals. Better mom. Game changer. Thank you, Kroger!

School pictures. We got them back this week and....Ahhh! Stop the madness. Funny, cute, awkward shy...treasures for life :-)

Today marks the season opener for IU Men's Basketball!!!! We're just a little excited over here.

Happy Friday! Go Hoosiers!

Friday Favorites: Siesta Key Edition

We're gearing up for Halloween weekend while missing the Florida sunshine! (So much rain here. And cold. Too much cold) Last week, we visited Siesta Key, FL with my parents and family friends. So today, I'm sharing our favorites in Siesta. These are all our "musts" with small kiddos :-)

parks.
Sarasota does it right. Their parks and equipment are all toddler-friendly, clean and fun :)

Our two must-see parks are:

The newer public beach playground was a hit with our kids. And it was just a short walk away from our condo.

One of our favorite things to do is to visit the marina. It's dog friendly, kid friendly and breathtaking at sunset. The playground has been recently updated as well-which we love!
food.
We have about 10 restaurants that we love down there. But these three are musts. Every time.

This is the gator outside of Philippi Creek. I get the snow crab every time. The restaurant is fun, crazy, messy & has the best seafood. The kids love posing with all the animals and fish after dinner too.

This is at Pacific Rim sushi restaurant. We love sushi. But Pac Rim has the best. BEST. And Briggs and Ker had their first sushi this trip! Avocado rolls :)

Posing with Papa after dinner.

beach.
The beach. Our happy place. Its always rated one of the tops. And its the 4th wonder of the world in my heart. #takeusback

Happy Halloween, friends! Think Florida thoughts and stay warm out there :-)

Friday Favorites: FNL Edition

FriYay! So glad you're here :)
Let's see what made the favorites list this week.

Friday Night Lights. I'm addicted. And I'm not one to get addicted to shows-except for Scandal (Kerry Washington: heart heart heart). But that's been since Day 1. I never binge watch on Netflix. But a few weeks  ago, I was really sick. Like, can't get out of bed sick- all.weekend.long.  No new shows were recorded, so I gave it a whirl with FNL. We're hooked.  And now, in addition to Kerry Washington, I'm in love with Tami Taylor.

It's October- so that means party planning has commenced! Halloween, Kerigan's bday, Tgiving, Christmas, Briggy & Ryan's bdays are all on the horizon. And while I love our local Hobbs Lobbs, I turn to Sweet Lulu for the unique finds. If you do it right, you'll come out on top budget-wise too!

We love all things fall. Briggs has really gotten into the tree colors this year. He is so happy God made yellow trees :) Their babysitter/and our sweet friend, takes them on "Leaf Hunts." So in between appointments yesterday, we went on a leaf hunt of our own. We were on the lookout for red, orange, yellow and brown leaves. Briggs came home with a ziploc full. Kerigan just wanted to stomp them. We had so much fun! And as they get older, our leaf hunts can get more advanced.

Friday Favorites: Forest Feast Edition

Hi friends! I'm a little late on posting my faves this week..but the Robinson crew are out enjoying this busy fall in full force. We heart "punkins." We love fall.

With all these fall foods in season, its the perfect opportunity to take advantage of one of my top cook books. The Forest Feast. Its a vegetarian book (I'm the furthest thing from a vegetarian but these recipes are just so good) with the most amazing combinations of flavors + simplicity.

The steps are this easy. The illustrations are beautiful and the photography is inspiring. It will make your eyes and your tummy very happy in these upcoming cozy days.

Who else can't get enough of pumpkin spice lattes this fall? #PSL for life. But I can get enough of the calories and cost. So here's my order this fall:
1.grande blonde or pike roast
2. two pumps of pumpkin sauce
3. add a splash of cream

Yay! Enjoy the amazingness of Starbucks in the fall with a fraction of the calories.

Indy Zoo Boo. My kids (I) look forward to this every year. My little Zebra & Red were not disappointed in 2015. More pics to come!

Have a great week!

Friday Favorites: Remembering "The Good" Edition

Friday, we have never been so glad to see you! It's been a tough week for the Robinsons.

Without going into too much detail, we had to take Briggs to the ER Sunday night for a very bad case of hives. By the time we were admitted into the hospital, his whole face was swelling. Our fear was that it would effect his breathing. After some treatment and not enough improvement, they decided to keep him in the pediatric unit over night. We were there until about 4pm on Monday. We are still praying for answers on why it happened but I'm thankful he's starting to feel more like himself.

The whole experience was a little scary and not one I really want to remember.  But there are some things I do want to remember. The support we received was astonishing. Weaved in between the hospital stay, follow-ups, "roid rage" and frustration, were prayers, phone calls, emails, texts, meals, games and more. And not because of us. But because of Briggs. So many of these individuals already have a personal relationship with Briggy. Or maybe they know a glimpse of what we know- that he's the most empathetic, selfless, joyful child you'll ever meet. It's been nothing short of miraculous to see how many people love this 3-year-old boy. And that's what I want to remember. This week, I choose to remember the good.

Our weekend started off well. We were prepping for their cousin's birthday party. When it comes to presents, one of their favorite things to do is decorate the wrapping paper for their friends. Then we finish it off with a pretty bow. We always buy our brown paper at Target.

Ker is obsessed with purple. Notice her special flare in the upper left corner.

All the kiddos celebrating our sweet Kinsie.

Sunday night during our hospital stay, I was feeling pretty down and overwhelmed. Then my parents sent me this. Nothing's better than getting to wear your big bro's jammies!

The photos from early Sunday evening are too heartbreaking. So I'm choosing not to share those. But here is a "before" from the wee hours of the night on Sunday (possibly Monday morning) and then the "after "on Wednesday. I've never been so thankful to see the sillies come out of this boy. By midweek, he was back to singing songs, building forts and playing with animals.

Thank you for all your love and support! And especially thank you for your prayers as we continue to seek answers.

Now go hug your littles and check out Caroline's favorites this week at Caffeinated Chaos
